MY JOURNEY TO BECOMING A THERAPIST

I have experienced growth and transformation throughout my own life and I feel that my experience gives me the gift to connect deeply and authentically with those that I support on their healing journey.

I know how it feels when life feels like it gets in the way of plans. That feeling when something so impactful in your life feels like it stops you in your tracks and you are unsure how to proceed.

I strive to use my authentic self and empathy to guide you on your healing journey. To walk alongside each individual that seeks care from me is my honor and I hope through deep exploration and trust in the therapeutic process that you too can find the joy in the present.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Colorado. I obtained my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver in 2019 where I studied clinical social work, family systems, and trauma. I have worked in medical, outpatient, IOP, and school-based care for mental health services.

  • I believe that you are worthy of love and care.

I believe that emotions heal when they are witnessed and validated.

I believe that therapy should address the person as a whole - mind, body, and spirit.

I believe that taking care of yourself is the most generous thing you can do for yourself and the world.

I believe that Brene Brown was right when she said, "Owning your story is the bravest thing you'll ever do".

OUR SESSIONS
ARE FOCUSED ON YOU

Sessions will provide you with the space to express your thoughts and feelings. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to gain clarity and feel the emotions that you need to honor.

It's important to me to provide a non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and ensure that the process is collaborative. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

My specialties are working with women and helping professionals who are working through challenges with anxiety, burnout and work stress, self worth, women's health, trauma, life transitions, and / or depression.

If you are a helping professional, please read through my helping the helpers page. I will be offering group support sessions in the near future and am gathering interest to create a safe space for us all.

my approach

Wellness Within uses integrative approaches that are tailored to each unique individual to align with their goals. The hope is to honor mind, body, and spirit.

  • Somatic: a body-centered approach that acknowledges the mind and body connection, this approach can support in releasing pent up tension in the body that influences physical and emotional wellbeing.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): aims to help with present day challenges. CBT is used by helping clients identify, challenge, and change maladaptive thought patterns.

Relational Therapy: Individuals learn about boundaries, compromise, and healthy balanced relationships.

Mindfulness: Focus on the present awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises to be present with the here and now. Mindfulness supports regulating the nervous system that can result in feeling calm.

Narrative: Empowers individuals to explore and embrace being the expert of their own life story.

Expressive Arts: Expressive interventions honors our natural ability to create. When emotions are hard to define art can be a catalyst for expression.

Person-Centered: Originates from the idea that each unique individual has the power to find the best solutions and make the appropriate changes for growth.

Strengths-based: Focuses on internal strengths and resourcefulness of each individual. The goal is to encourage focus on the best qualities of self and improve resilience through changing worldview that is based in a more positive outlook.
